I’m sorry.

I’m sorry that we let you down. I’m sorry that your future had to be built on our unfortunate past.

I’m sorry that our childish need to be heard cost you your childlike sense of wonder.

I’m sorry that we allowed ourselves to be too blind to see to the heart of the matter…we were too blind to understand our hearts ARE what matter.

Pride became our driving force, and it drove us apart. As you are well aware. We neglected our compassion and worst of all our love.

We neglected the depth of dignity because wading in shallow comforts was easier.

We became obsessed with gaining any kind of lead over one another that we didn’t realize we lost our humanity along the way, until it was too late.

I hope in time you can forgive us. Let discrimination die with us. Let negation of self die with us…let our mistakes die with us.

Create the world we could not. For our tools were fear, hate and pride.

Now is your time. It is not enough to see the world for what it is, you must dare to envision it for what it should be. Not for a day or a week, but for eternity.

Move forward with kindness and wellness will follow. Build with hope and greatness will rise. Wonder with care and love will grow.

Above all else, we are human. Above all else, we are love.

Never forget that.
